Side Chat 3/10/22 - by Stephanie McNeal

Hi everyone,

This is me this week because there’s so much crazy stuff happening.

Let’s get to it!

On the internet…

Girlgangz7733 page rebrands as “positive space”

Earlier this week, the Instagram page formerly known as @Girlgangz7733 announced it had new ownership and was rebranding as “Le Jaspiner.”

If you’re unfamiliar with the old page, here’s a tl;dr. Girlgangz7733 or GG was a page run by a woman named Erin, primarily focused on influencer and Bravo snark. GG’s biggest claim to fame was probably exposing that “Vanderpump Rules” star Lala Kent’s fiance, Randall, was cheating on her (they broke up soon after). At the end of last year, GG wiped her account, and vanished from the internet. There has been a LOT of speculation as to why, which I will not repeat here for legal reasons!

The new account, Le Jaspiner, says it will be “a media/news platform bringing you the latest and hottest behind the scenes gab.” It also promises to be more positive than GG, and whoever is posting claims it is now being run by a different person. It is possible Erin sold the account, which some big Instagram accounts do when they want to retire and make money off their big following, or gave it away to someone else. The person behind the account has promised to go on camera eventually.

The OG GG had a lot of genuine fans, and they are flooding the comments asking for an explanation for what is really going on. The page has also lost about 7,000 followers. So, TBD if this rebrand will work out.

I know you guys have thoughts on this, so would love to read in the comments.

Lance and Chelsea drama and womblands?

Chelsea and Lance are two TikTokers who had a romantic relationship that ended poorly, and Chelsea is now sharing the gory details in a series of videos.

I’m not even gonna try and explain this one, but Pop Crush has attempted here:

“In a video shared last week, Chelsea Hart opened up about the deterioration of their alleged romance with Lance Tsosie. Chelsea claimed that their relationship started as a friendship but evolved into something more….Chelsea said that they made it very clear that they were not down with the idea of opening up the relationship to multiple partners…’Under that pretense of understanding that I needed to be the only one, I flew to Denver, and I had unprotected sex with him,’ they alleged.

Chelsea then alleged that, less than a day later, they learned Lance was on a date with another person.’You violated my trust,’ they said in a video directed to Lance. ‘I almost want an STD test.’ Chelsea pleaded with their followers to not attack Lance but implied that he was behaving in a misogynistic manner.”

This back and forth also led to a confusion, as many people became confused when Chelsea said in a video: “I have an ache that lives in my womb, Lance.” People thought Chelsea said “womblands,” which has since…become a meme.

Kendra Scott launches direct sales platform!?

The jewelry brand Kendra Scott announced last week it would start a “direct retail” platform. As reported in WWD:

“Kendra Scott is testing a new way to increase brand awareness in markets where it does not have a strong retail presence.

The Direct Retail by Kendra Scott program has launched in a sort of beta mode, and empowers local entrepreneurs to sell directly to shoppers in their communities via events, social media and one-on-one relationships. Think of it as the modern equivalent of a Tupperware party.”

When they announced the plan though, a lot of people were angry, asking them if they were starting some sort of MLM. The company denied this, saying on Facebook: “We believe that true entrepreneurship is born from women supporting women; however, we are not launching this program as an MLM.”

What do you guys think?

One more thing…

After reading a ton of good reviews, I finally listened to the podcast Normal Gossip this week, and OMG, it is SO funny. Host Kelsey tells her guest a real-life piece of gossip submitted by listeners about normal people, and has them react. The episode featuring Laci Mosley of Scam Goddess had me laughing like I haven’t in a while at a podcast. I highly recommend!

Speaking of podcasts, on my LuLaRoe podcast this week, I interviewed Meg Conley! We discussed how MLMs prey on stay at home moms, and why this message can be so powerful in our current society.

Listen to the episode here, and Normal Gossip here!

See you next week,

Stephanie
