These Princess Polly Dresses At Pacsun Are Cute for the Summer
Friends, you heard it here first: I am officially in my dress and skirts era.
And it’s all Princess Polly x Pacsun’s fault.
And to think, it all started with a skort.
If you’ve been keeping up with my “Dressing Up” series, you might remember the first time I collaborated with the Pacsun x Princess Polly collection. The first drop involved a black skort that was so comfortable and wearable, that it made me want to experiment with other skorts and skirts. I was also inspired to dip my toes into the dress sector of the fashion world, and teenage me would be floored to know I am loving it.
So, when the collaborating brands shot me an email with even more Princess Polly offerings available on the Pacsun website, I didn’t hesitate to inquire if they’d be interested in a second collaboration with me. The latest additions to Princess Polly via Pacsun offerings include a handful of dresses that are perfect for summer, and as I said in my last review, if you haven’t shopped at Pacsun since the early aughts, run don’t walk. They’re catering to a wider demographic these days, even us all-grown-up millennials. The dresses I’ve styled ahead are proof.

Let’s start this review with a bang, shall we? I am obsessed with this floral mini, and I think you will be too!
I’m on a mission to get as much wear out of my clothes as possible. In other words, I no longer care if I am an outfit repeater. You should find clothes you love and wear them over and over and over again, and this dress will be one on rotation in my wardrobe. As you can see, it’s super versatile. I can dress it down with a pair of flip-flops or clean white sneakers and a light-wash denim jacket for an easy daytime look, or dress it up with heels or sandals and a blazer.
I also want to note how comfortable the dress is as well. The product’s description notes it’s made from a “thin knit stretch fabric,” and when they say stretch they mean stretch. What’s more, the elasticized silicon strip along the bust and back isn’t tight or irritating at all. But, it does stay in place.

I loved this polka dot dress online, but I didn’t love how it looked on me. The v-neck is too low for a regular bra, and I didn’t have something to accommodate it properly. I made do with a black bandeau, though. I also don’t love an A-line silhouette on my shape (it doesn’t match up nicely with my natural curves), but for anyone who does, this dress is super cute and it is very comfortable. I’d recommend trying it if that’s your style. It just wasn’t mine!

So, I got it in my head that this LBD was supposed to be a t-shirt dress. It’s definitely not that.
It can be casual, depending on how you style it. For example, I wore the dress to a wine festival and paired it with flip-flops and very minimal jewelry (mini hoop earrings and my favorite Alex & Ani bracelets). I originally planned on pairing the dress with sneakers, but it wasn’t the right vibe. Combat boots, however, work well, especially if your accessories are on the edgier side.
The ribbed fabric is what threw me. As I said, I don’t even think I read the product’s description. I just convinced myself it would be a t-shirt fabric. But its slim fit and ribbed material make it feel much nicer than your average scoop neck, roomy t-shirt dress.
Regardless, I like this one! I don’t love it, but I think the potential is there to love it.

I have to preface this review by stating that The Marko Romper is hard to get a hold of. Customers love this romper. So much so, that I’ve seen it sell out a few times. However, in my opinion, a restock is worth waiting for.
Princess Polly gets an A+ for comfort. Between its elasticized waist, adjustable tie straps, and hidden back zipper closure, I found this one-and-done ensemble both comfortable and secure. I adore the ruffled hem that gives the illusion of this romper being a dress (nope, there are shorts underneath this baby!) and think the delicate floral print and tie straps give it such a gorgeous feminine touch. I paired it with gold jewelry and instantly felt like I was on a European vacation. Like I was going to dinner in Greece.
