Thursday 3/21/24 Jeopardy! Fashion Recap

It’s Day 2 of the Jeopardy Invitational Tournament! (The 2nd of 9 Quarterfinal games.) Here’s the full lineup for the JIT.

I am SO excited to see these iconic contestants, some of whom I GREW UP watching, back on the Jeopardy! stage!

I’m posting occasionally on various social media (mostly Instagram right now), but this newsletter is the best place to find daily recaps, photos, and announcements.

I love this color! It’s uncommon to see contestants wearing short sleeves, since it’s usually pretty chilly in the studio.

In his previous appearance, Leonard mostly wore long sleeve button-up shirts. Though none in a color this bright!

Leonard’s Teen Tournament is currently available (free, on demand, with ads) on Pluto.tv (starting with episode 6536)

Jason is wearing a bright red tie with a dark blue shirt, what a nice contrast!

In his original run, Jason wore colorful shirts with ties - a very “high school teacher” outfit! He had a lot of great combos, some of which you can see below (the lavender shirt outfit is one of my favorites!)

Most of Jason’s original episodes are available now (free, on demand, with ads) on Pluto.tv (Season 36, episode #8046-8059)

Larissa is another contestant I remember watching through her many appearances through the years! (This tournament is so exciting for me, can you tell!?) The embroidery on this jacket is really cute. I also noticed her butterfly earrings (I know she wore a butterfly pin in some of her previous appearances, but I don’t know / don’t remember what the significance is.) Cute glasses too!

In previous appearances, Larissa wore mostly colorful shirts, sometimes with a black cardigan. I couldn’t find a lot of her previous episodes, but here are a few.

Larissa’s Battle of the Decades episode is currently on Pluto.tv On Demand! (Season 30, Episode #6808)

I’m pretty sure this tie is grey, but it always looks green on my screen! This is the 3rd time this season Ken has worn this tie, and he wore it 3 times last season.

I just released a new shirt, in collaboration with Jeopardy legend Sam Kavanaugh. If you agree that Jeopardy is a sport, get yours here!

JeoparDAY is coming up (March 30th!) and if you’re planning to take the Anytime Test, I have some resources for you!

Jeopardy has a Youtube Playlist with previous contestant tests from 2017-2020. I recently put some time into creating this spreadsheet to grade my answers and check my score while practicing with those videos. Feel free to make a copy and use it for yourself! There is a separate tab for each video test.

  • watch the test video with the spreadsheet side-by-side

  • type your answers into the spreadsheet

  • when you're done, unhide the answer column

  • check the boxes for correct answers

  • the sheet will calculate your score (35+ is widely rumored to be "passing")
